Appir B.V. builds Appir Search, an AI search plugin for fashion stores on Shopify. Appir B.V. is responsible (the controller) for the personal data described on this page. Appir B.V., Brouwersgracht 126e, 1013 HA Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 94947627. Our server receives your IP address and browser details with every request, because a page cannot be delivered without them. We use the IP address only in memory, for a few minutes, to stop abuse such as a flood of form submissions. We do not store it and we keep no access logs.

The website runs on a server of Hetzner Online in the EU.

We count page views and clicks on our buttons ourselves. For each event we store the page, the button and the page you came from. We store no IP address, no cookie, no device fingerprint and nothing else that could identify you, so there is no consent banner. If your browser sends Do Not Track, nothing is counted at all.

These counts are copied to our own analytics database on Microsoft Azure in the EU.

If you pick a language in the menu, we store that choice in one cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) for a year, so your next visit opens in your language. This website sets no other cookies.

When you request a trial or a demo, or send us a message, we receive what you fill in: your email address and, depending on the form, your name, your store's URL, your platform, the topic and your message, plus the language of the page.

We use this only to answer you and to set up your trial or demo. The legal basis is taking the steps you asked for before a possible agreement.

The data is stored in the website's database, sent as a notification to our team's Slack workspace, and copied every hour to our analytics database on Microsoft Azure in the EU. Slack may store data outside the EU; that transfer is covered by Slack's data processing terms, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

We keep it while we are in touch about your request. Ask us and we delete it from all three places.

If we give you a demo login, we record how the demo is used: your searches, the products you open and what you add to the basket or buy in the demo. With each visit we store a random visitor cookie, a shortened IP address (the network part only), your network provider and the details your browser announces itself, such as screen size, language and time zone. A second cookie keeps you logged in.

We use this to see how our demo is used during a sales conversation. The legal basis is our legitimate interest. Demo data sits in its own tables on Microsoft Azure in the EU, is never mixed with store data, and is deleted on request.

You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Email remco@appir.nl; we answer within a month. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

When we change how we handle personal data, we update this page and the date at the top.
